The historic facade of the the former Teachers Protective Mutual Life Building stands propped up on N. Prince Street while the new building’s core has now reached it’s full seven-story height and retail space along Water Street begins to take shape.
Developers Don Herman and Kirk Sears purchased the 78,000 sq. ft. property in 2020 for $995,000 and commenced demolition in Fall 2024 after receiving approval from city council on their plans by architecture firm, Alexander Design Studios. Construction is being lead by Wohlsen Construction.
In addition to 72 Market Rate Apartments, plans include two Retail Spaces along both N. Prince Street and N. Water Street totaling 3,300 sq. ft., a Pass Through Park, Skylounge, Fitness Room, Bike Room, and Green Roof.
